Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart for families overcome by the grief and pain of the death of their newborn or infant. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives. I am an active NILMDTS volunteer photographer for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Heart of Lancaster Regional Hospital in Lititz.
Initiated by concerned parents, She’s Somebody’s Daughter exists to create a national dialog about the realities of pornography and its role in driving the demand for sex trafficking and violence against women and children. Circle of Life Photography is helping this national movement by partnering with local young women and teens by creating portraits for their website and designing local billboards in York, Duncannon and Harrisburg. We believe we can change the cultural tide for future generations.
It has been a privilege to serve as a volunteer photographer at Joni & Friends' Family Retreat in Eastern Pennsylvania for a week each summer. This year I have switched gears from a photographer role to skin therapist and in my ninth year of serving, gave facials to the moms of families affected by disability. This amazing retreat creates a beautiful, compassionate and encouraging environment where everyone is treasured for their abilities and gifts. Caregivers find refreshment and camaraderie. Campers find acceptance, fun activities and encouragement to try new things. It is truly a special place, and I encourage you to check it out!
